Elections & Racing Forward

It's been a long 2020.....I repeat...it's been a long 2020.

Not to mention a long election cycle to boot. We've been through so much as a society; for some it's culminated within the last four years, but for others it's been another day-in-the life: just in stereo. As a matter of practice, I always prepare for whatever comes next. My ongoing life lesson has been that things can change in the blink of an eye; the importance of being ready always looms in the back of my mind. We do the same thing over at WinC. It's important to provide access to folks who desire tools for their professional success as well as for peace of mind.

This week is going to be whatever it's going to be. I for one started looking beyond it, specifically at how I can help my community by preparing for the next Election cycle. One way that WinC has been doing that over the past few years is attending a bi-annual conference called Facing Race. It's hosted by Race Forward, who has been organizing the event for the past 15 years. The purpose of the conference is to give community builders and sustainers tools to help fortify their community with equity and sustainability practices. Our affiliate magazine, Blerd Galaxy, will be covering the event so there will be plenty of information to share and discuss. In addition, registration will be open until 11/6 if anyone is interested in attending the virtual event; it's taking place 11/10-11/12.
